Will I have to keep you away from everything sharp?
Razor blades, scissors and even safety pins?
To stop you from slipping away in the dark,
Or trying 'cleanse' yourself from your ‘sins’.

Will I have to lock up the medicines and throw away the key,
And somehow hide every mirror?
It's because you hate the reflection you see,
It isn’t that bad if you only looked nearer.

Will I have to watch you every time you sleep?
To check that you still breathe?
While you’re in your slumber so deep.
It’s the only time when your emotions don’t seethe.

Please don’t slip away,
Just because you can.
